Some Words About Me
Hi, my name is Anke Boersma, a native of the Netherlands who
lived in the USA for thirty years and moved back to the
Netherlands late 2017.
Though I do not have a formal education in IT tech or Computer
Science, I have been active in web development and UI design for
over twenty years. I am also very active in the Open Source
world, contributing code to many projects and maintaining my own
OS `KaOS` since 2013. Being back in the Netherlands makes it a
good starting point to expand more on the IT work.

German Examples of websites build over the past 20 years
Jekyll Static Site
Media focused site created for the 2018 European Bluez Challenge winners. Custom code to have a direct way to play recent releases. With a static site like this, no hosting server needed, served directly from GitHub pages. A (limited) webshop is possible with a static site, custom code created for this band so they can sell 20–30 articles. No database needed, can be connected to any payment service.
CMS
A WordPress CMS (content management site) with sidebar navigation, gives it a picture frame look. Using WordPress makes it easy for the site owner to edit any of the text included. Pop-out navigation, clearly marked login, are some of the features appreciated by both site owner and visitors.
Pure HTML/CSS
Pure HTML/CSS site, with quite a few CSS effects to get a unique layout. JS used for home page slider. Pure HTML sites give a lot of flexibility, including the option to go serverless by deploying on GitHub pages or Digital Ocean App Platform.
Astro JS Site
A site design and layout with an emphasis on reading and learning. White spaces, font selection and colors used, all promote easy reading. Included are a news (blog) and documentation section.
Navigation is set up in flat design, no secondary menus, another way of making reading the primary focus.
Interacting with site visitors or customers is greatly enhanced by adding a forum to any website. Here a modern PHP based option is used.
E-Commerce Site/OpenCart
A shopping site created with OpenCart offers a near limitless amount of articles to sell. Custom designed OpenCart 4 theme, using PHP and twig files. Easy to use database to add any specifics for any and all articles. Tax rates, shipping options, payment gateways, all can be set to specific needs.
WordPress Booking Site
Property management, one-page site with full database to handle rentals. Deployed on its own VPS.
